Two pranks in a week!

While I was folding laundry, my mom barged in the house and asked me if everything was OK.  I told her everything was fine and asked why.  She said Alex had called her and told her it was an emergency and to come here immediately.  She tried to find out what exactly was wrong but all he said was to come right away and hung up.

I called Alex to come downstairs and when he did, he was peeking around the corner with a huge grin on his face.

A few days later, Alex came to me and informed me he had dialed 911.  I was freaking out in my mind but calmly told him that if he did and the police/ambulance and/or firemen came, I would get fined.  That would mean he won't get any gifts for Christmas.  He thought it didn't matter because Santa would come and give him gifts anyway but I assured him that Santa does not bring gifts to children who dial 911 as a joke.

He said nothing and left the room.  I waited 15 minutes before coming to the conclusion that it was just another prank of his.

No wonder I'm getting gray hair before my time.

Hehe, how often do you meet someone with the same first and last name AND a birthdate one day apart!?  Apparently this girl on facebook decided to do a search on her name and found me.  We're currently trying to find out if we're related in any way but it hasn't been easy.  I have papers of my family tree going back to the 1500's so that's a very long list of names to be searching through.  But still, it's totally awesome!

Anyway, the past few months have been... eventful.  The kids were busy with their activities at school and at home.  I was working a lot, sometimes two different jobs for 5-6 days straight at times then I got sick with severe vertigo for a few weeks.  It was NO fun because that meant I had to miss work for a few weeks and not do anything.  I had to let people take care of my kids, take care of me and the house.  I didn't like it a bit.  We still don't know the cause but my doctor ordered a MRI so hopefully we find an answer.  Err, I don't know if it would be good if we found something or nothing and still have no answer.  Hmm.

Well, after that passed, we found out my mom has thyroid cancer.  Her surgery day is on Monday the 21st.  The doctor will be taking the whole thyroid out and we should find out what kind of cancer it is.  I'm hoping it's the slow spreading kind so she can recover from it and get on with her life.  Fingers crossed.

This weekend, the kids, Tommy and I are going camping.  I'm so thrilled!!  I've been dreaming of going there ever since the snow melt.  I love the smell of campfire, the cool night air, the nature and the sky full of sparkling stars.  And sharing it with my kids and Tommy just makes it perfect.  Alex is obsessed with fishing now.  The other day we were at Canadian Tire, he wanted the biggest fishing tackle box.  He's a real man, he wants only the best, the biggest toys there is.  :P  Sky's looking forward to spending time swimming, collecting bugs, finding seashells and playing with Tommy's niece.  Too bad we only can stay for the weekend but hopefully we get a chance to go back in August before summer ends.

Kiki just started walking last night.  In the vid, my brother said, "She's probably not going to walk cuz we're filming her" but as usual, he was wrong.  :)
